Gustave Joseph Bouve CSSp (born February 26, 1902 in Lo , Belgium ; † September 8, 1989 ) was a Belgian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Kongolo .

Life

Gustave Joseph Bouve joined the Congregation of the Holy Ghost in and received on 26 August 1928, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 31, 1950, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Cremna and Vicar Apostolic of North Katanga (later Kongolo). The Archbishop of Mechelen , Cardinal Jozef-Ernest Van Roey , donated him episcopal ordination on August 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of Brazzaville , Paul Joseph Biéchy CSSp, and the Vicar Apostolic of Tshumbe , Joseph Augustin Hagendorens CP .

Gustave Joseph Bouve became on November 10, 1959 as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kongolo to the diocese of first Bishop of Kongolo. On September 1, 1970, Pope Paul VI. the resignation put forward by Bouve and appointed him titular bishop of Zama Minor . On March 4, 1971, he renounced the titular bishopric of Zama Minor.

Bouve attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
