The Roman Catholic Diocese of Tshumbe ( lat. : Dioecesis Tshumbeensis ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Tshumbe .

history

The diocese of Tshumbe was on May 25, 1936 by Pope Pius XI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad evangelici from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Kasaï Superiore as the Apostolic Prefecture of Tshumbe . The Apostolic Prefecture Tshumbe was on March 14, 1947 by Pope Pius XII. raised to the apostolic vicariate . On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Tshumbe by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum raised to the diocese.

The diocese of Tshumbe is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Kananga as a suffragan .
