The Henri Freycinet Harbor is located in Western Australia , Australia , the Indian Ocean in the Shark Bay . This bay is located in the Shark Bay Marine Park area .

This bay is formed by peninsulas , by the almost parallel Carrarang Peninsula and Peron Peninsula . The bay is named after the French Louis Claude Desaulses de Freycinet , who later became governor of Réunion . Freycinet took part in the Australian Baudin expedition led by Nicolas Baudin from 1801 to 1803.

The settlements of Nanga, Tamala and Carrang lie on the bay. It is not navigable with larger ships.
