Henri Guy

Henri Guy (born January 5, 1863 in Le Puy-en-Velay , † 1947 in Paris ) was a French Romance studies and high official of the education administration.

life and work

Guy was a student of Ernest Mérimée . He completed his habilitation in 1897 with the two theses Essai sur la vie et les oeuvres littéraires du trouvère Adan de Le Hale (Paris 1898, Geneva 1970) and De fontibus Clementis Maroti poetae. Antiqui et medii aevi scriptores , Fuxi [Foix] 1898. He was a high school teacher in Annecy , rector of the school and university district [Académie] Grenoble and was a member of the Académie Delphinale from 1922 to 1933. In 1923 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

Guy published numerous children's books (some under the pseudonym Yvan d'Urgel).
