Damien Da Silva (born May 17, 1988 in Talence in the Gironde department ) is a French football player of Portuguese origin.
Career
The player from the Bordeaux region began his career at the age of five with Girondins Bordeaux . At the age of 15 he moved to the youth department of Chamois Niort . Da Silva was in the Niort squad for the first time in the 2004/05 season and played his first game for the club in the third division . At the end of the season, the team was promoted to the second division . In this division, Da Silva played more often and came in the first season on seven missions. At the same time it was used in the French U-18 and U-19 . With Niort he was relegated in 2008 and in 2009, despite regular missions, decided to switch to the second division club LB Châteauroux , where he was rarely used. Therefore, he was loaned to third division FC Rouen on January 1, 2011 . At Rouen he became a regular player, so that he was signed for further seasons by the Norman club in the summer of 2011. For the 2013/14 season he moved back to Ligue 2 to Clermont Foot and only one year later he made another career leap when he was signed by the first division promoted SM Caen . In this he was able to fight for a regular place and contribute to relegation.
In July 2018, the 30-year-old Da Silva joined the European Cup team Stade Rennes as a regular and reached the eighth finals of the UEFA Europa League and the French Cup victory against defending champions and favorites Paris Saint-Germain in the 2018/19 season . Thus, for the next season, the European Cup participation in the Europa League took place.
