Metehan Güçlü (born April 2, 1999 in Montfermeil , France ; in France also Météhan Guclu ) is a Turkish- French football player who is under contract with Stade Rennes .

Life and miscellaneous

Güçlü's father came to France in the mid-1980s as a 17-year-old from Adıyaman in the southeastern Anatolian region of Turkey, his mother, at the age of 13, from Kahramanmaraş in the Turkish Mediterranean region . Therefore, as the son of Turkish parents, he has Turkish citizenship .

Güçlü was born in 1999 as the son of a building contractor and a housewife with a college degree in the French community of Montfermeil , which is why he is French . He grew up with three brothers, two older and one younger, in the Parisian banlieue in the Seine-Saint-Denis department . His older brother Ayhan had also worked as a professional footballer in Europe . He finished in France, the school with a lyceum Accounts. Afterwards Güçlü continued to attend foreign language courses for English and Spanish .

His soccer striker role models include Robert Lewandowski in the first place , Edinson Cavani in second and Sergio Agüero in third .

Career

In the club

Güçlü started playing football in the club at AS Bondy in the city of Bondy . After three years, talent scouts from Paris Saint-Germain discovered him and invited him to two trial training sessions. He successfully completed this and joined the youth team in Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 at the age of 12. There he went through all youth teams up to the A-Jugend (U19), with whom he played in the UEFA Youth League , among others . Already in the 2017/18 season, his first year in the A youth, he came to work in the second team in the fourth-class National 2 . In the 2017/18 season he made six appearances in addition to appearances in the A-Jugend, for which he scored three goals in eight games in the UEFA Youth League. During the international break he also trained with the professional squad of coach Unai Emery . For the 2018/19 season, Güçlü moved firmly into the squad of the second team, for which he scored eleven goals in 16 games by the end of February 2019.

On 21 February 2019 Güçlü received his first professional contract with a term until 30 June 2022. Güçlü played three times in the Turkish U17 team in March 2016 , scoring two goals. In October 2016, two appearances in the U18 team followed without a goal of their own. Between January and July 2018, Güçlü played seven times in the U19 team and scored one goal.
