Joris Gnagnon (born January 13, 1997 in Bondy ) is a French football player . The central defender is currently on loan from the Spanish Primera División club Sevilla FC to the French first division club Stade Rennes .
Career
In 2014 Gnagnon joined the youth team of the French first division club Stade Rennes . For the professional team he made his debut on January 16, 2016 against ES Troyes AC when he was substituted on at half time. During the 2015/16 season he was used in six other games. In the following season 2016/17 he was not used in the first ten games, but after that he was on the starting line-up in 27 of 28 remaining games. He scored his first Ligue 1 goal on January 28, 2017 against local rivals FC Nantes when he equalized in minute 86. In the 2017/18 season Gnagnon only missed two of 38 league games in which he also scored two goals.
On July 25, 2018 Gnagnon moved to Spain for Sevilla FC . There the signed center-back a five-year contract. In the first division , however, he could not prevail and was only used in seven league games. Therefore, he returned to his old club Stade Rennes on loan at the end of August 2019. He played 19 league games this 2019/20 season.
Private
Joris Gnagnon's brother Harlem Gnohéré is also a professional soccer player and is currently under contract with the Romanian first division club FCSB Bucharest .
