Southeast Anatolia ( Turkish Güneydoğu Anadolu ) is the second smallest of the seven geographic areas of Turkey with an area of ​​75,000 km² . The official name is "Southeast Anatolia Region" (tr. Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi ). It represents about 9.7% of the Turkish state territory and particularly includes parts of northern Mesopotamia .
