Henri Quittard

Henri Charles Etienne Quittard (born May 13, 1864 in Clermont-Ferrand , † July 21, 1919 in Paris ) was a French musicologist and music critic.

Quittard was a student of Cesar Franck . He devoted himself mainly to music history studies. His main interest was French music of the 16th and 17th centuries. Quittard was a lecturer at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Sociales in Paris, music critic for Le Matin and Le Figaro and from 1912 archivist at the Opéra .
