Life

From 1460 to 1466 and 1476 to 1483 he was Prévôt des marchands .

Henri de Livres was the confidante of the French King Charles VII and his successor Louis XI. During the war of Louis XI. against the Ligue du Bien public , Henri de Livres contributed decisively to the fact that the city of Paris remained loyal to the king. Through clever tactics, he ensured that the numerous supporters of the League - also in Paris - did not gain the upper hand and that the city decided in 1465 not to open the gates to the army of the rebellious nobles under the leadership of Charles the Bold .

Two months before his death he resigned from his parliamentary office in favor of his son Hélie.
