Henriette Spitzeder
Henriette Spitzeder , née Henriette Schüler , also Henriette Spitzeder-Schüler ( March 18, 1800 in Dessau - November 30, 1828 in Berlin ), was a German opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Spitzeder was the child of comedian Carl Schüler and singer Eugenie Schüler born. Bonasegla, daughter of the Italian singer and musician Giuseppe Bonasegla († 1820), music teacher at the electoral philanthropist in Frankenthal (Palatinate) . She seemed to have inherited the voice from her mother, who was also her singing teacher, and it was noticed at a young age.
She was trained and was characterized by a special richness and volume. At the first engagement of the young artist in Nuremberg, the dignified intonation as well as the purity and precision of the presentation were praised. She made her debut at the age of 14 under the pseudonym Dlle. Shepherd as Queen of the Night . In 1816 she married Josef Spitzeder . Since then she has been more of a wife and mother than an artist. In 1819 she joined the association of the Kärntnertor Theater in Vienna, where she was particularly popular as "Zerline" and "Cherub". From Vienna she also made major guest appearances. She was so popular at one in Berlin that she had to join the opera association there. She therefore severed her relationship with the Theater an der Wien , where she had previously been engaged. After she had performed with great success for four years, especially in Mozart's operas in Berlin, in 1828 she left the theater entirely without compelling reasons. She retired from the stage and died giving birth to their tenth child.
