Henrik Jaenzon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henrik Jaenzon (born October 1, 1886 in Gothenburg , Sweden , † April 27, 1954 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish cameraman .

Live and act

The brother of the legendary cameraman Julius Jaenzon, who was one year younger than him, joined Norwegian film as a cameraman in 1910 after completing his photography training in the first decade of the 20th century. In the following year he made his debut in a documentary in his Swedish homeland, from 1912 Jaenzon was a sought-after cameraman for Swedish films with games. His early work is closely linked to some of Victor Sjöström's and Mauritz Stiller's masterpieces, and Jaenzon's oeuvre has silted up since their temporary departure to Hollywood in the early / mid-1920s.

Jaenzon finally left his employer Svensk Filmindustri and switched to the small company Bewefilm, for which he mainly photographed less important productions by Sigurd Wallén . After 1926 Henrik Jaenzon hardly appeared as a cameraman, his only sound film was released in 1935.

Individual evidence

  1. the German titles of the silent films that are sometimes circulating in IMDb and other secondary sources are mostly arbitrary new titles or literal translations. The German titles given below correspond to the first rental titles in the German Reich in the 1910s and 1920s and were taken from Sjöström's and Stiller's biographies from Kay Weniger's Das große Personenlexikon des Films , Volume 7, Pages 348/49 and 501.
