Henry Adams (zoologist)

Henry Adams (* 1813 ; † 1877 ) was an English malacologist .

Adams was an architect (like his father) at the Customs Department of the Inland Revenue Office. With his brother Arthur Adams , he published a three-volume monograph on molluscs from 1853 to 1858 with initial descriptions of many new species. In the 19th century it was regarded as a standard work, also in terms of systematics.

He introduced the mussel order Pectinida with his brother .
