Christian Henry Jessen (born May 12, 1919 in Låstrup near Viborg , Denmark , † May 13, 1994 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actor .

Life

Jessen completed an acting education from 1942 to 1943 at the school of Det Kongelige Teater . Then he was engaged at the Odense Theater from 1944 to 1945 . From 1946 he was on tour with the actress Hedvig Schad , where they appeared in various houses in Copenhagen. In the 1960s he moved to North Jutland, where he worked for a long time at the Aalborg Theater. During the summer holidays he also appeared on the stage of the Jutland open-air museum Hjerl Hede .

As an actor in the film, he had his first role in the historical drama Jens Langkniv in 1949 . He then worked in many other films and later in some television series. He gained greater prominence on Danish television through his involvement in the television series Fiskerne . He also worked as a director for the film Frøken Jensen's pensionat in 1982 . He had his last appearance as a film actor in 1994 shortly before his death in the film The Prince of Jutland .

From 1953 he was married to the dancer Lill Kannegaard.
