Nicolaj Kopernikus with stage name, real name Nicolaj Christiansen (born August 9, 1967 in Glostrup , Denmark ) is a Danish actor and voice actor .

Life

Copernicus (actually Nicolaj Christiansen) grew up in the country as the son of the architect Jørn Christiansen and his wife Hanne Løcke Christiansen , née Sabroe Andersen . Originally, Copernicus wanted to become a farmer and worked as a helper on a farm when he was young. At the age of 14 he already owned around 50 pigs and a few cows. Later, after graduating from school, he gave up the idea of ​​working in agriculture and instead took a job as a technician at the Rialto Teatret in Frederiksberg as an adult . In 1994 he completed an acting training at the Odense Theater School and at the beginning of his career gave himself the artist surname Kopernikus, based on the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus . He then performed in various houses, such as Café Teatret , Mammutteatret , Aalborg Teater , Husets Teater , Dr. Dantes Teater , Betty Nansen Teatret , Teatret ved den Sorte Hest and at Det Kongelige Teater . At the Gladsaxe Teater he played the main role of Hans Christian Andersen in the performance Mit eventyr in 2005 , and also received greater attention for his appearance in Lars Norén's play Person Group 3.1 .

He achieved his breakthrough in the film industry in Jonas Elmer's work Let's Get Lost and was also well known throughout the country through his appearance in the Danish television series Charlot og Charlotte in 1996 . Nicolaj Kopernikus was awarded the Bodil in 2001 in the Best Supporting Actor category for his appearance in the film Bænken . He had another well-known appearance in the role as Vagn Skærbæk in the series Kommissarin Lund - Das Verbrechen . For this performance he was awarded the Ove Sprogøe Prize in December 2007 .

Copernicus also appeared in the radio program Mads og monopolet on the Danish radio station DR P3 and acted as a Danish voice actor in several animated and cartoons and films for children and young people.

Copernicus lived with the choreographer and actress Birgitte Næss-Schmidt in his years and they have three children together.
