The Olsen gang in fine company , original title: Olsen-banden på de bonede gulve (literally The Olsen gang on a polished floor ) is a computer-animated 3D film from Denmark about the Olsen gang .

The Olsen Gang receives an order from the Danish State Ministry to steal Hans Christian Andersen's pen , which is of inestimable ideal value in Danish history , for a large sum of money . The pen is to be presented to the Chinese prime minister as a gift for the successful conclusion of a trade agreement between Denmark and the People's Republic of China . The gang breaks into the HC Andersen Museum in Copenhagen, where, thanks to Egon's plan, they can disable the alarm system. When Egon opens the Franz-Jäger-Safe in the museum, instead of Andersen's pen, they only find a modern ballpoint pen. An accident will also trigger the alarm. While Benny and Kjeld managed to escape just in time, Egon Olsen was arrested in front of the museum and taken to prison. The Olsen gang was evidently set up by their client Hallandsen. He had already replaced Andersen's pen and only needed a relevant criminal scapegoat like Olsen to explain her disappearance. After Olsen's arrest, Hallandsen presents the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen with the correct feather .
Due to an amnesty, however, Olsen is released after a short time and of course immediately has a plan how to get hold of the pen and thus the millions, as well as take revenge on Hallandsen. Andersen's pen is said to be in the safe of Hallandsen's study in the Folketing at Christiansborg Palace . To get them out of there, the Olsen gang needs a cordless screwdriver, honey plum juice and a few dead rats, which Benny and Kjeld organize for the plan.

The thirteen original films in the series about the Copenhagen crook trio, which were released from 1968 to 1981, were initially followed in 1998 by a last (fourteenth) film in the original cast, The (really) very last trick of the Olsen Gang . The television series Olsen-bandens første kup (1999) and the movie Olsenbande Junior (2001) then told of the Olsen Gang's childhood .
In September 2007 the first announcement was made that an animated film would be produced with the gang. The director originally named was Stefan Fjeldmark , among others director of Terkel in Trouble . The film was made as a joint production of Nordisk Film , the traditional producer of the Olsen Gang, and the Danish animation studio A. Film ; it was subsidized by the Danish Film Institute. Before that, A. Film had, among others, Hugo, the jungle animal or Help! I am an animated fish . Parts of the film were made at Happy Flyfish in Viborg ; the municipality of Viborg and the West Danish Filmpool were also among the financiers of the film. The international boom in 3D film eventually led to the announcement, as the first Danish film also Olsen tied på de bonede Gulve publish in 3D.
It was decided not to use the leading actors of the original films ( Morten Grunwald , Ole Ernst ) who were still alive at the time of the interview as Danish voice actors; instead, young actors and comedians were selected.
Film premiere and releases
The world premiere of the film took place on October 3, 2010 in Viborg; the official gala premiere on October 9th at the Imperial Cinema in Copenhagen . It started at the Danish box office on October 14, 2010. In April 2011 it was released on DVD and Blu-Ray , dubbed in Danish and also in Russian . A German version was released on September 21, 2012 by Capelight Pictures on Blu-Ray / DVD. On February 21, 2016, the film had its German television premiere on MDR television .

“... Admittedly: The story of The Olsen Gang in good company sounds more complicated than it really is. Because in truth it is not about the coup and its political entanglements, which seem like a huge corruption of the supposedly socially critical and socially committed crime novels from Scandinavia, but about something completely different: An update of the Olsen Gang should be here. And that was quite successful. The slogans and running gags that are known and expected as a loyal fan of the series fall precisely - from Benny's standard exclamation "Mighty powerful!" From Egon's ubiquitous cigar to the nagging of Kjeld's wife Yvonne, everything that characterized the adventures of the Olsen Gang is really there. In June 2011 it was announced that another 3D animation film would be produced as a sequel under the title: Olsen-banden på dybt vand ( The Olsen Gang goes swimming or literally The Olsen Gang in deep water ) and its German-language premiere under the name on September 29, 2014 The Olsen Gang is said to have been on the high seas . This film was funded in Denmark by the Danish Film Institute's 60/40 regulation and had its premiere in 2013.
