Olsen Gang Jr. - Olsenbandens første kupp ( German : Olsenbande Junior - The Olsenbande first coup ) is a Norwegian television series for children that wasfirstbroadcastas a Christmas series ( Julekalender ) on TV 2 at Christmas 2001. The television series is a remake of the previously released Danish television series Olsen-bandens første kup . The Norwegian translation, the adaptation of the script and the remake were done by Sverre Holm (former Norwegian Benny actor) and Arne Lindtner Næss . The television series was produced by Nordisk Film for TV 2 (Norway) , directed by Beate Eriksen and Arne Lindtner Næss and edited by Helge Billing . The series was both the beginning and the first part of the successful Olsen Gang Junior film series in Norway .

It's early December in the late 1950s and Christmas is just around the corner. Egon Olsen lives in the Lykkebo orphanage , a children's home in Oslo . Egon is transferred to a new class with pupils of the same age, twelve to thirteen years old. In class, he met his new comrades Kjell Jensen and Benny Fransen , with whom he quickly became friends. Together with Dynamit-Harry they found the Olsen Gang (The Olsen Gang). As every year, a prize is awarded at Christmas that Egon and the Olsen Gang would like to win for the home. Egon happened to observe the machinations of the home management, including Mr Hallandsen (director of the children's home) and his cronies, how they wanted to withhold the Christmas prize money and another large amount of money. Together with his junior Olsen gang , Egon wants to recover the money from Hallandsen's safe and help justice to a victory. Egon , of course, has a plan to outsmart his opponents. But Hallandsen also has plans, he needs a lot of money to be able to leave the country for the Bahamas forever. He wants to create additional confusion by using fake Santa Clauses who are recruited from the board of directors of his home. The Santa Clauses take the gifts with them instead of giving them to the children. The big question for the Olsen Gang is whether there will be a Christmas for the children of the home and for the Olsen Gang this year. For Kjell , the main thing is that he can prove his great love for Valborg . In addition, Kjell's father Basse is kidnapped by Hallandsen's cronies. In the reaction of Egon 's plans comes Olsenbande addition Biffen (stupid pig) with Knut and Jonny as opposing gang in the way. Biffen also acts as Hallandsen's henchman and also disputes Kjell Valborg as a friend. After a few mishaps, Detective Inspector Hermansen and his assistant Holm are on the heels of the Olsen gang instead of pursuing Hallandsen's machinations. Ultimately, they can thwart Hallandsen's plans. You hand him over to the school principal and his gang, who are also involved, to the police, and you can save the misappropriated money for the children's home. Kjell's father Basse is on the road as Santa Claus for the children in the area. A new classmate joins Kjell and Benny's school class, Egon Olsen , who comes from the local orphanage Lykkebo in Oslo . Benny and Kjell come into conflict with the Biffen gang , consisting of Biffen (Dumb Pig), Knut and Jonny .
2 December 2, 2001 Egon observes how Mr. Hallandsen , the director of the children's home, and the board of the home are planning to withhold the annual Christmas bonus. Olsen wants to find evidence of this in Hallandsen's office. Egon quickly makes friends with Benny and Kjell . Together they found the Olsen Gang with Dynamit-Harry . Kjell spends most of the time dreaming about his great love Valborg , who is also in his class.
3 December 3, 2001 After a further attempt to Biffenbande , Benny and Kjell harassing, can Egon time Biffen fool while embarrassing to the class. Egon lets Benny and Kjell know about his plan. Hallandsen's secretary pushes the bear into the office, as expected. This time everything seems to go according to plan, Egon can get the "red suitcase" with the evidence of fraud out of the safe this time with the help of a demolition of Harry's dynamite .
6th December 6, 2001 The Olsen Gang Junior wants to hand over the ominous red suitcase with the evidence to the police and report Hallandsen & Co. for fraud and embezzlement. Hallandsen discovers the theft and suspects that the Olsen gang are the perpetrators and reports the theft to the police.
7th December 7, 2001 Hallandsen offers an exchange. The Olsen gang is supposed to exchange the red suitcase for Kjell's father , Basse , who was kidnapped by Hallandsen's people . Hallandsen wants to get rid of the evidence quickly and hides it in a trash. After the successful exchange, Egon almost manages to get the red suitcase back into his hands, but a tramp intervenes and takes the suitcase.
8th December 8, 2001 Egon can take the suitcase from the tramp again. Benny and Kjell , who are currently flirting with Valborg and Ingrid , are surprised by the Biffen gang . Biffen then takes the suitcase from the Olsen gang. Egon is beside himself with anger. Of course, the police would not believe the Olsen Gang Junior either without the inaccessible or corresponding evidence. Biffen tries in vain to open the red suitcase.
9 December 9, 2001 Biffen locks the suitcase in his school locker. There's a big party going on at school today. Of course, Egon has another plan. He wants to use the upcoming school party for his latest coup. But Benny and Kjell are primarily interested in the girls in their class. While Benny and Kjell are supposed to distract the class, dynamite Harry and Egon want to get the suitcase out of Biffen's locker by blowing it up. Dynamite Harry gets the wrong locker on the first try . On the second attempt, the suitcase is recovered, but the Olsen gang is surprised by the school caretaker and has to leave the suitcase hidden in a cupboard. Of course, the caretaker finds the suitcase and secures it in his school lost property office.
10 December 10, 2001 Pop bags, hanging ears, cardboard noses, ...! Egon is beside himself with anger. He blames Benny and Kjell for the renewed failure of his plan. The Olsen Gang doesn't give up, however, a new plan has to be found to get the red suitcase from the lost property office. Egon confides in the headmaster of the school in the hope that he might be able to help him. Kjell wants to give Valborg a little present. At a favorable moment, Biffen swaps the sweets for an old chewing gum. This makes Kjell unpopular with Valborg .
11 December 11, 2001 Egon tries again to get help from the rector. But he has no idea that he is on Hallandsen's side. The suitcase is still in the caretaker's lost property office, the rector, the Biffen gang and the Olsen gang try in vain to get it back in the lost property office. They all fail because of the diligence and attention of the caretaker. Basse is kidnapped again while working as Santa Claus, this time by two fake Santa Clauses ( Hallandsen's cronies).
12 December 12, 2001 Gudrun , Kjell's mother , is completely desperate because her husband has disappeared again without a trace. Egon has another idea to get the red suitcase. To do this, they steal Luciafest costumes with the appropriate utensils from the girls' wardrobe. You almost get caught, but you can blame Biffen . Biffen loses it with Valborg . Kjell can score again with Valborg .
13 December 13, 2001 Lucia Day is celebrated in the school on December 13th . There is a parade of the girls through the school building. The Biffen Gang and Herman ( Hermansen's son ) control the area in question in order to prevent the Olsen Gang from getting near the suitcase again. According to Egon's plan, they dress up as Luciafest girls in order to get to the caretaker's lost property office undetected. The plan succeeds, the Olsen Gang can outsmart the caretaker and their opponents. At the last moment they are exposed by the Biffen gang and have to flee to the school library, where they are locked up.
14th December 14, 2001 The Olsen Gang Junior is still locked in the library. The Biffen gang noticed that the suitcase was missing. They discover the hiding place of the Olsen gang and alert the caretaker. The only thing left for the Olsen Gang is to escape through a small, difficult-to-access window. Hallandsen and the rector think about how they can get the red suitcase back. The Olsen Gang fatally decides to ask the headmaster of the school for help so that the machinations can be uncovered with the evidence from the suitcase.
15th December 15, 2001 Egon Olsen hands the red suitcase to the school principal so that he can help convict Hallandsen . He realizes too late that the rector is friends with Hallandsen and is therefore on the wrong side. Kjell needs Egon's one hundred percent help. First of all, Basse has to be freed, who Kjell suspects in Hallandsen's hands. According to Egon's plan, Benny uses a catapult to incapacitate the Christmas tree lights in front of Egon 's children's home. This distraction allows Kjell to break into the home's basement and free his father. Basse got tipsy with alcoholic sweets and schnapps while in captivity.
16 December 16, 2001 Gudrun is very upset because Basse arrives home drunk. In the school class of the Olsen Gang , the preparations for the big Christmas play and at the same time the casting for the main roles begin. Kjell absolutely wants to appear with Valborg as Maria and Josef, but embarrasses himself at the rehearsals and is rejected for the role by the class teacher. Egon is held responsible for some incidents in the last few days and has to be arrested in the children's home.
17th December 17, 2001 Benny and Kjell wait longingly in front of the home until Egon is allowed to come out again, where he is then received with a festive flag. At the same time, he has a plan to get the red suitcase back. This is in a safe from Franz Jäger Berlin , which is in the office of the headmaster of the school. As a replacement, a rubber dummy with Egon s costume is inflated by Dynamit-Harry in the background so that his disappearance is not noticed. Egon can get into the Rector's office unnoticed and get his suitcase out of the safe.
19th December 19, 2001 Benny and Kjell are on stage with the Egon replacement doll and the Christmas play is still in full swing. Again, not everything is going as Egon planned. Actually, when pulling the stage curtain , Egon was supposed to be pulled up from the window of the rector's office using a special construction with ropes, but this initially fails due to a dispute between the class teacher and the caretaker. Egon is discovered by Hallandsen , who is checking the rector's office. At the last moment and with a considerable delay, Egon is still teased and can take his place on the stage next to Benny and Kjell without being noticed. After Valborg sings a final solo on stage as Maria, the Egon rubber doll unexpectedly appears next to her. Dynamite Harry fell asleep and unconsciously opened the valve on his gas bottle, which inflates the doll again. The Egon -Ersatz rubber doll is getting bigger to the dismay of the audience and finally explodes. Fortunately, everyone gets away with the horror. The Olsen Gang and Dynamit-Harry now want to hand over the evidence case to Detective Inspector Hermansen and his assistant Holm . Hallandsen and the rector state, however, that the suitcase belongs to them and that there is nothing relevant in it. After all, you believe them, since everything speaks against the Olsen gang anyway , which is therefore supposed to be arrested with Dynamit-Harry .
20th December 20, 2001 However, this is easier said than done. You can outsmart police assistant Holm who tries to put the handcuffs on and escape. The police remain close on their heels. In order to escape from the school building unnoticed, they hide in sacks that the caretaker is about to take away. Hermansen and Holm realize too late that they have been tricked again.
21st December 21, 2001 The three guys from the Olsen gang disappeared without a trace. The wildest rumors circulate about their deeds and their whereabouts. You will find an ideal hiding place in a shed. The police are looking for and observing the Olsen gang and are therefore very close to them. Hallandsen's people can outsmart and kidnap the Olsen Gang. When the police want to arrest the Olsen gang in their hiding place, they are no longer there.
22nd December 22, 2001 The Olsen Gang is now trapped with Basse , who was already locked in Hallandsen's basement. The police are very close again with Holm and Hermansen , but of course they don't notice anything. They also still haven't seen through the frauds and swindles of Hallandsen .
23 December 23, 2001 The last pre-Christmas preparations will be made for the Torlaks Fair on December 23rd. The Olsen Gang is still trapped in Hallandsen's basement. Hermansen and Holm are also nearby, but they are still completely in the dark. The principal of the school, Hallandsen and the board members of the orphanage disguised as Santa Clauses, however, prepare their immediate escape. They want to move to the Bahamas with the embezzled money and have chartered a ship that is waiting for them in the port of Oslo .
24 December 24, 2001 Can the Olsen Gang save Junior Christmas at the last minute? It is now Christmas Eve . The Olsen Gang and Basse are able to escape their prison by blowing up Dynamite Harry . Then they watch their opponents flee in the port of Oslo. Since one does not believe the Olsen gang, they cannot tell the police about everything and about the escape of Hallandsen and Co. In order to attract the police, Egon anonymously reports vandalism to Hermansen on the sculpture Sinnataggen in Oslo harbor . The Olsen Gang is now trying to stop Hallandsen and his people in the port of Oslo as they escape. Egon is surprised by Hallandsen and taken to the waiting escape ship. When the police arrive, Hallandsen and the Rector try to escape with their Citroën bus . The police can arrest Hallandsen , the rector and their cronies at the last minute , and secure the misappropriated money for the children. Christmas is now saved for all children. The Olsen Gang celebrates Christmas with Kjell's family and Kjell can now be sure of Valborg's love again .

Other films and sequels

As a new idea, the Jönssonligan (Jönsson gang) was shot in Sweden in the mid-1990s as a remake of the Danish Olsen gang with children who had characters similar to the Swedish adult characters. In contrast to the actual Jönssonligan films, the first two junior films have also been dubbed in German so far. Later, Denmark and Norway followed this example and created their own “youth versions” of the Olsen Gang .

The 24-part Christmas series Olsenbandens første kupp is a remake of the Danish 31-part television series Olsen-bandens første kup ("The Olsenbande Junior and their first coup"), which appeared two years earlier . The subsequent Danish sequel Olsenbande Junior was also adapted in Norway, slightly changed. As with the other Norwegian Senior Olsen Gang remakes , the names of the protagonists in the films have been Norwegianized. While the name of the main character remained Egon Olsen , the name changed from Benny Frandsen to Benny Fransen , from Kjeld Jensen to Kjell Jensen , Børge to Basse Jensen (here as Kjell's father) and from Yvonne to Valborg and from Bøffen (Dumb Pig) in Biffen .

Thereafter, while no other junior films were longer produced in Denmark, was born in Norway another unique Olsen Gang Junior - film series without proper Danish templates (2003-2010), their parts are among the most successful productions of the Norwegian film history:

In Norway, 621,000 viewers followed the start of the Christmas series Olsenbandens første kupp on Saturday, December 1, 2001 on TV 2 ; for the second episode on Sunday, December 2, 2001 it was still 620,000 viewers, which is roughly a market share of corresponds to 39.3% and 38.9%, respectively. After the first broadcast on TV 2 in December 2001, the television series was repeated several times on Norwegian television, including in December 2004 and 2007. However, the repetitions on Norwegian television at Christmas 2012 had significantly lower ratings, with around 58 000 viewers for the first episode. The series was also released as a film on VHS and DVD from 2003 . A German version does not yet exist.
