Trond Brænne (born July 31, 1953 in Oslo ; † March 16, 2013 there ) was a Norwegian actor and author .

Life

Brænne began performing at Det Norske Teatret in 1974 as a student . There he was permanently engaged as a theater actor from 1977 to 1996. He had his first leading role as David in Mot raudt lys (Against red light) by Yvonne Keuls. At the annual Maridalsspillet open-air theater (historical play) at the ruins of the Margaretakirken (Magaret Church) in Maridalen near Oslo, he was involved as a theater actor and director from 1974 until his death.

From the mid-1990s, Brænne put the focus of his work on children's and youth literature. He has also published numerous radio plays and has written lyrics as a poet. In 2009 he published his works on the record Bamsen er borte and was nominated for the Norwegian music award Spellemannprisen in the children's and youth literature category in the same year . In 2010 he was nominated for the Brageprisen literary prize in the same category.

Brænne has also worked as a film actor in numerous roles and in many Norwegian film and television productions . He made his first film appearance in 1979 in the film Kronprinsen in the role as a board member; from 2005 he also appeared in the film series Kommissar Isaksen as Astle Tengs, which was filmed based on the crime novel series Cato Isaaksen by the writer Unni Lindell . He had several appearances as Basse Jensen, the father of Kjell, from 2001 to 2010 in the film series of the Norwegian Olsen Gang Junior . Brænne also starred in the first episode Reality Check of the television series Lilyhammer in 2012 in the role of a gamekeeper .

He lived with the Norwegian writer, set designer, illustrator and draftsman Iben Sandemose . His daughter Kaia Brænne is also a writer, his son Bendik Brænne is a well-known singer, songwriter and saxophonist in Norway. In 1999 Brænne suffered several heart attacks that ultimately led to a heart transplant . After the successful procedure and subsequent recovery, he continued to work very actively until his death. On March 15, 2013, Brænne collapsed while at work due to a stroke caused by a rupture of a blood vessel supplying the brain . Despite intensive medical treatment, Brænne died the following day. His urn was buried in Haslum on April 2, 2013 after a cremation .
