Olsen Gang Jr. på Cirkus , German festival title: The Olsen Gang Junior in the Circus , is a Norwegian children's and family film and musical by Arne Lindtner Næss and Svein Gundersen from 2005 . The film from the film series of the Junior Olsen Gang (Norway) was developed by Nordisk Film and TV 2 produces and had on 10 February 2006 in Norway his movie premiere.

Egon Olsen is in the Lykkebo orphanage in Oslo around 1960 . The children in the home go on a trip with a special steam train into the countryside. The home manager Sigvald Pettersen only handed out dry slices of bread with old, spoiled herring for the day's food for the children on the train . Home manager Pettersen and his wife Mathilde Pettersen , on the other hand, enjoy delicious chicken and wine as well as other culinary delicacies in their extra wagon , which they bought with the money that was actually intended for the children of the home. Egon Olsen wants to change this injustice and organize the delicious food for the children on the train. With the help of Benny and Kjell , his plan initially seems to work. He can hand over the edible loot to the children in their car, but is caught theft at the last minute. The wagon that has been decoupled from Benny now races down the embankment with Egon and the home management at full speed ... Egon Olsen has to be arrested as a punishment.
After serving his sentence, Benny and Kjell did not pick him up this time because they were sweaty. When Egon finally meets his companions, he tells them about his latest plan based on his observations: While eavesdropping on the Pettersen couple , he found out that he and all the children in his home are invited to the circus free of charge, which is currently guesting on site. The children's circus attendance is even paid for with money from the municipality . The home manager, who has already received the tickets, wants to hide them with his wife. So Egon wants to get the tickets for the circus and also a “red suitcase” that he saw in the safe of the home manager. With the help of Dynamit-Harry they want to crack the Franz-Jäger safe of the home manager. The plan fails, Egon is the only one caught, but is able to escape with the help of the other children in the home. While eavesdropping again on the director of the home, the Olsen gang discovered to their horror that he was pursuing a much more diabolical plan: the director of the orphanage, Sigvald Pettersen, wanted to sabotage the circus together with his wife Mathilde and her brother, the clown Thorvald from Circus Flamingo . Pettersen also dreams of being a ringmaster (of his Circus Sigvaldo ) one day. With the clown Thorvald , who the manager of the Circus Flamingo fired, he wants to blow up the circus with a bomb . The bomb is in the "red suitcase" instead of the money the Olsen gang suspected, and is to be detonated during the circus premiere. Because of the failed "theft", Egon is now wanted by the police, and Pettersen incites the Biffen gang on him . However, the Olsen Gang escaped their enemies several times in their pursuit. Biffen is also supposed to deposit the “red suitcase” in the circus on behalf of the director of the home (without knowing about its dangerous contents), because it is too dangerous for him. Egon disguises himself as a clown and can calmly and unrecognized to prepare his new plan with Benny and Kjell . Although they can take the "red suitcase" from Biffen , they will soon lose it again. The suitcase bomb can thus be deposited in the circus in time for the premiere. However, the red suitcase is too well hidden and camouflaged, as the clown also presents several identical-looking duplicates during his performance in the circus, so that they cannot find him at first. After the hiding place of the right suitcase has finally been found, this time Kjell turns out to be the hero of the day. He can get the suitcase bomb into his possession in a spectacular action. At the last moment, the Olsen gang can expose the treacherous clown Thorwald and the home manager Pettersen as well as his wife and they can be arrested by the police. Egon defused the bomb in the middle of the circus arena in the presence of the police. Everyone has been saved and the Olsen Gang has been rehabilitated. For Valborg , Kjell is the great savior and dearest hero, whom she forgives everything.

The Olsen Gang Junior in the circus is a direct continuation of Olsen Gang jr. på rocker'n ("The Olsen Gang Junior rocks") from the Olsen Gang Junior (Norway) film series. She was married to Olsen Gang jr in 2007 . Sølvgruvens hemmelighet (“The Olsen Gang Junior and the secret of the silver mine”). In France , the film was released under the title " Olsen et sa bande au cirque ". The film has now also been released on DVD . A German-language publication does not yet exist for this film.

Performed as a musical at the Oslo Nye Teater
The "Olsen Gang Junior in the Circus" ( Olsen Gang jr. På Cirkus , or Olsen Gang jr. På Sirkus ) was first performed as a musical from February 3, 2005 to June 11, 2005 in the Oslo Nye Teater ( New Oslo Theater ) before it was filmed. Ivar Tindberg directed the musical, Helén Vikstvedt was the choreographer and John Kristian Alsaker was responsible for the scenography. The roles of the children were alternately cast by two different groups of actors in order to ensure the continuous performances in the theater. Some of the actors and the child actors also played in the Olsen Gang Junior film of the same name .
