action

After a failed break-in by the Olsen
gang , Egon flees to the dome of the Colosseum cinema in Oslo . The premiere of the film took place in the same cinema on November 29, 1973.

The Olsen Gang plans to steal the daily revenue from Oslo's Colosseum cinema . During the implementation everything seems to work out until the unexpectedly appearing and drunk Dynamite Harry completely messes up Egons plan and he accidentally triggers the alarm system. Benny, Kjell and Dynamit-Harry managed to escape via the emergency stairs of the cinema just in time - when the police arrived. But Egon chooses the wrong escape route, a ladder that leads up and is a dead end. Olsen is finally arrested on the dome of the cinema.

When Egon was released from the Oslo Botsfengselet after eight weeks in prison , Benny and Kjell did not stand in front of him to pick him up, as is usually the case. But now Dynamite Harry sneaks up from a bush in front of the prison to Olsen and apologizes for the fact that he screwed up the coup in the Oslo Colosseum . At the same time he declares that he has finally renounced alcohol and offers Egon a collaboration for a mutual break. Dynamit-Harry tells Egon about the new life of his former partners as honorable employees, which Olsen does not believe him at first. After Egon arrives at home at Kjell and Valborg's apartment, he finds out that his gang members Kjell and Benny have broken away from him and that Dynamit-Harry was right. The reason for this is Benny, who believes he has found a new way to get rid of his money worries: He wants to marry Ragna, the unsightly daughter of the shopkeeper Quist. Egon is therefore initially staying with Dynamit-Harry. Instead of carrying out his actual plan, which revolves around the vault of the seedy entrepreneur Hallandsen, he participates in a burglary into a grocery store planned by Harry. There is said to be a Franz Jäger vault in the store's warehouse, which is said to be filled with a lot of money from the owner of the store. As it turns out, this coup leads to Quist's shop, of all places, where Egon unexpectedly meets Benny and Kjell, who are currently doing unpaid overtime. It turns out that the safe is empty except for worthless items. Quist becomes aware of the noise in his camp and surprises Benny and Kjell in front of his open safe, while Egon escapes at the last second. Quist mistakenly thinks Kjell and Benny are the intruders and therefore has them arrested. Together with Kjell's son Basse, however, she can free Egon - thanks to his extensive knowledge of transporting prisoners - and the three are reconciled again. Egon can finally begin to prepare his plan with Benny and Kjell. The first thing the Olsen Gang spied on was the Hallandsen company. The von Hallandsen company is disguised as a large food company with an attached cold store, but in reality it also carries out international illicit trade. The safe is in Hallandsen's office, in which six million crowns of black money are deposited that the Olsen gang is now trying to get. As usual, you get the appropriate utensils. Furthermore, they make a small break with the insurance company Trofast A / S beforehand with Dynamit-Harry in order to have a little start-up capital for the big Hallandsen coup. Egon pretends to be the powerful overboss from Germany when Hallandsen is absent from his "company" and Benny and Kjell as his bodyguards. Olsen can develop a plan to outsmart the security system of Hallandsen. The police with Detective Inspector Hermansen have also been watching Hallandsen's company in Oslo for a long time and would like to convict him with the black money. A promotion from Hermansen also depends on this. When the police observed the Olsen gang from a distance in appropriate disguise, Egon was the company's big boss. Furthermore, the police assume that a major illegal transaction will take place there soon, in which one can finally confiscate the black money sought and arrest Hallandsen and his helpers in the act. The police are therefore trying to pursue and shadow the alleged gang boss Egon Olsen. After the Olsen gang has been able to leave the observing police unobtrusively and after all preparations have been completed, they go to Kjell's apartment to discuss the further detailed procedure.

Unexpectedly, however, the Quists reappear to reconcile with Benny and Kjell. Egon is angry when Benny decides to stick to his marriage plans. He leaves Kjell and Benny and now begins his coup alone according to the agreed schedule. In fact, he manages to break into Hallandsen's company on his own and open its ultra-modern safe and get his millions. However, after his successful mission, Olsen is surprised by a patrol on the way back and quickly hides in a fish cooling chamber without being recognized.

At Quist's big reconciliation celebration with Benny, Kjell, Ragna and their families, however, it comes to light that Ragna's father also suffers from financial problems and is currently hoping for a solution from Benny, whom he believes to be an academic. After Kjell and Benny realize that they have bet on the wrong horse, they rush to Egon's help, dismayed. You arrive just in time and with the help of dynamite Harry's detonation you can free the almost frozen Egon from the cold room of the freezer and escape with Hallandsen's millions. At almost the same time, the police storm Hallandsen's front company. But the best police experts fail to open Hallandsen's state-of-the-art safe. An idea comes to Hermansen's mind: Egon Olsen is the man with the best reputation in this field. He sends a police patrol to ask Olsen to break into a safe in the service of the Norwegian state. However, when the police show up at Kjell's house to hire Egon as a safe hacker for Hallandsen's safe, Benny and Kjell get scared and throw the money out the window into a garbage can. At this moment, however, the garbage cans on the street are emptied and the red suitcase ends up in the waste incineration plant. Benny and Kjell, who can still hear that, drive right after, but they are too late. Due to this unfortunate coincidence, Benny, Kjell, Valborg and Basse board the plane to Mallorca without money. Egon, who opened the Hallandsen safe on behalf of Hermansen, is then given a small reward and driven quickly to the airport. When Hermansen then discovers that the safe is empty, it is totally desperate. But also Egon, when he found out from Benny on the plane that all the money was gone.

Reviews

“The series is getting better - The box office hit is back on the market, and in a considerably better shape than before. The worst banalities and weaknesses are gone. But for many it will still be a disappointment, because in the first half hour of the film it doesn't make much progress. There is a lot of talk, without punchlines, and with little action. But yes, the undersigned thinks that we have come a step further. Not that you couldn't hold back from laughing. But you can have a nice time, especially if you like Harald Heide-Steen junior in his form. "

Remarks

  • The film Olsenbanden og Dynamitt-Harry går amok premiered in Norway almost at the same time, except for a few weeks with the Danish original The Olsenbande runs amok . Otherwise, the remake was usually released a year later in Norway. The originally planned Norwegian remake of the fourth Danish Olsen film, The Olsen Gang and their big coup , was postponed due to some critical voices because of the simple adoption of the Danish script. The fourth Danish Olsen Gang film was later released in Norway as the fifth film. Another consequence of these criticisms was that more and more attempts were made to change the dialogues and actions of the Danish templates and to better Norwegianize them in order to better differentiate themselves and to become independent.
  • The cinema that the Olsen Gang tries to rob at the beginning of the film is the Oslo Colosseum Cinema , which is where most of the premiere parties for the Norwegian Olsen Gang films took place.
  • Under the title Die Olsenbande and Dynamit-Harry run amok , the film was presented in 1997 at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck . The film has since been released on VHS , DVD and Blu-Ray . A German-language publication does not yet exist for this film.
