Leif Erlsboe

Leif Leonhardsen Erlsboe (born December 28, 1943 in Denmark , † October 15, 2000 ) was a Danish - Norwegian film editor , director and screenwriter .

biography

Erlsboe started his career as an advertising photographer. Then worked as an assistant at Nordisk Film -gesellschaft in Copenhagen . He initially worked as an assistant director and production manager in local film productions and was involved in a number of films between 1963 and 1967 . Erlsboe also worked on several films in different positions with the sound. As an editor in film he made his debut in the Danish-Swedish-Norwegian co-production Klabautermannen from 1969. From 1969 to 1972 he worked as an editor for three films in the series of the Norwegian Olsen Gang. He made his debut as a director and screenwriter in 1965 in the Danish short film Rytmer i Tivoli . He was then in 1966 when the Danish film 2-1 director and in 1979 he led the Norwegian feature film roser Ingen ... takk the Director .

Erlsboe achieved his greatest success and attention in 1984 with the award-winning film Lars i porten , in which he was both director and screenwriter. His son Magnus E. Haslund played the leading role as Lars in Lars i porten . In 1985 Lars i porten won the Amanda ( Amanda prizes ), and the film also received a special award at the Moscow International Film Festival . Lars i porten was also his last film, after which he left the film industry completely for health reasons. Erlsboe died on October 15, 2000, after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 56.
