Arve Opsahl
Arve Opsahl (born May 14, 1921 in Kristiania , † April 29, 2007 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian film and theater actor .
biography
Arve Opsahl was born as the son of master blacksmith Aksel Opsahl (1886–1963) and his wife Alvilde Olsen (1889–1958) in Kristiana, today's Oslo, where he also spent his childhood and grew up. He began his career in 1942 in the theater as an actor and appeared in numerous roles on stage. He had his first appearances in the theater at Scala Revyteater , then at Edderkoppen and Chat Noir, and from 1967 he was permanently engaged at Oslo Nye Teater . From 1980, Opsahl continued to work as a freelancer, including revues by Dag Frøland at Chat Noir.
Opsahl has also appeared as an actor in more than forty films and in many television productions. He had his most famous role in the 14 Norwegian remakes of the Danish Olsen Gang . He played the lead role of gang leader Egon Olsen from the first Norwegian Olsen Bond movie in 1969, and in all the other 13 films until 1999. Arve Opsahl also had a guest appearance on the Danish Olsen Gang as a drunken tourist Knut in the film The (probably) last match of the Olsen Gang , together with the other Norwegian Olsen Gang actors Sverre Holm and Carsten Byhring . In 1981 Arve Opsahl played again in the Danish Olsen Gang film The Olsen Gang flies over the plank, also a Norwegian in Copenhagen Airport. He is also well known for his role as the old man "Henry" on the Norwegian television series Mot i Brøstet .
In December 2005, Opsahl was prematurely declared dead by an online newspaper, which the actor wore with humor.
The shooting of the last Norwegian Olsen Gang film ( Olsenbandens siste stikk , 1999) was particularly tragic . Arve Opsahl felt pain in his right leg while shooting the last 14th film, but wanted to persevere because he played the leading role of Egon. After the end of this film, his leg had to be amputated. After a last appearance in 2001 in the television comedy Himmelen kan vente , Opsahl finally retired from professional life.
