Sverre Wilberg

Sverre Wilberg (born December 24, 1929 in Fredrikstad , † July 19, 1996 in Oslo with cancer) was a Norwegian film and theater actor.

Wilberg studied from 1953 to 1955 in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art . He then began his acting debut at Trondheim's Trøndelag Teater , where he stayed until 1958. He then continued his career in various Oslo theaters, such as Oslo Nye Teater , Chat Noir , Fjernsynsteatret and Det Norske Teatret . He became known there as the leading actor in various plays such as A Midsummer Night's Dream , Goethe's Faust , as well as in many other productions by Ludvig Holberg , Antonio Buero Vallejo , Euripides and Shakespeare . Wilberg worked in Norwegian theaters for over 42 years, where he played more than 100 different roles.

Movie and TV

Wilberg played in numerous Norwegian and international film and television productions. He had his best-known role in the 12 films from 1969 to 1984 in the Norwegian Olsen Gang , a remake of the Danish Olsen Gang , which he played as Detective Inspector Hermansen throughout, in contrast to the Danish original version, where two different people (here Inspector Mortensen and Detective Inspector Jensen) to act as police investigators.
