Harald Heide-Steen junior (born August 18, 1939 in Oslo , † July 3, 2008 in Bærum ) was a Norwegian actor and comedian .

Life

Harald Heide-Steen Jr. was the son of the Norwegian actor and theater director Harald Heide-Steen . At the age of eleven he made his stage debut at the Oslo Nye Teater in Let's Make an Opera by Benjamin Britten . A year later he played a supporting role in Tancred Ibsen's film Storfolk og småfolk (Big and Small People).

He became known not least from the 1970s as the eternally drunk "Dynamitt-Harry" in the Norwegian remake of the Olsen Gang films. Compared to the Danish original , the role in the Norwegian films has been expanded considerably.

He also made a name for himself as an improvising comedian. With Rolv Wesenlund he has performed as a Duo Wesensteen since the late sixties . He was also seen as a solo artist in revues in various theaters in Oslo . He created characters such as the steadfastly optimistic pilot of the airline Spantax , a Russian submarine captain who can see no boundaries under water, and Sylfest Strutle, the parody of a nationally romantic Nynorsk poet. Heide-Steen junior was awarded the Spellemann Prize in 1978 , the Leonard statuette in 1985, the Leif Justers ærespris in 1991 , the Komiprisens hederspris in 2005 , the Oslo Kulturpris in 2007 and the King's Medal of Merit in Gold.

Private

Heide-Steen junior was married to Gullen Øyehaug for the third time and they had two children together. He had one child from a previous marriage.

In October 2007, Heide-Steen Jr. publicly that he had terminal lung cancer and the doctors had given him a prognosis for another two months without appropriate treatment. He lived in Bærum until his death and died on July 3, 2008 of his illness. Until shortly before his death he was still on stage at Norske Teatret .
