Ivan Nikolajewitsch Kusmin ( Russian Иван Николаевич Кузьмин ; born April 25, 1962 ) is a former Russian orienteer ski runner .

Kuzmin was born into a sporty family. His mother was skiing; his father was a skier and mountaineer. As a teenager, he began with biathlon before switching to orienteering skiing. From the late 1980s he lived and trained in Sweden, where he also met his future wife Arja Hannus .

At the 1992 World Cup in Pontarlier, France, Kusmin was third on the short and long distance behind Vidar Benjaminsen from Norway and Vesa Mäkipää from Finland. With the CIS squadron, which also included Viktor Korchagin , Nikolai Bondar and Vladislav Kormchikov , he won a silver medal. At the 1994 World Cup in Italy, he and the Italian Nicolò Corradini were short distance world champions due to the fact that they were tied together. He also won bronze with the Russian relay.

After his active career, Kusmin worked as an editor for various ski sports magazines. In 1996 he was named “Honored Master of Sports”.
