Beate Eriksen

Beate Marie Eriksen (born October 19, 1960 in Norway) is a Norwegian actress and director . Eriksen has appeared on various Norwegian stages and is also known for her role in the popular Norwegian soap opera Hotel Cæsar .

Life

Beate Eriksen graduated from the Norwegian State Theater School (Statens teaterhøgskole) in 1985 . She then worked for five years at Oslo Nye Teater and four years at Riksteatret . Since then she has worked as a freelancer for the Nationaltheatret , Den Norske Opera & Ballet , Norwegian Radio and other institutions. She also appeared in film and television roles, particularly in the soap opera Hotel Cæsar . In 2000 she also began working as a director for this series. She has directed 100 episodes of Hotel Cæsar and 24 episodes of the children's television series Olsenbandens første kupp . Currently teaches Eriksen acting at the Waldorf School of Bærum , where she presides over the Theater Department.

family

Beate Eriksen's father was Marius Eriksen junior , a Norwegian flying ace in World War II and after the war two-time Norwegian slalom champion (1947 and 1948). His father Marius Eriksen senior was a gymnast and won a bronze medal at the 1912 Summer Olympics . Her uncle is the Norwegian ski racer Stein Eriksen , and other members of the family were also active in sports. Beate Eriksen is married to the actor Toralv Maurstad .
