Heartless is a Danish mystery television series that premiered on April 28, 2014 on the Danish channel Kanal 5 . The first season comprises 8 episodes, which are split into two production years. The first 5 episodes were produced in 2013, the remaining 3 episodes in 2014. The title song for the series Don't believe the demons comes from the singer Roxy Jules . The German premiere has been on RTL Passion since February 13, 2018 .

The siblings Sofie and Sebastian have a dark, fatal secret: they are cursed. As energy vampires, they have to withdraw life energy from other people in order to survive themselves and not to crumble into dust. While Sofie has come to terms with the situation, Sebastian wants to find out the causes. In an orphanage, Sofie and Sebastian try to find answers about the curse, which leads them to the mysterious and traditional Ottmannsgaard boarding school.
