Henry and a Left Leg (Original Title: Henry's Leg ) is a six-part British television series. It was adapted for television in 1984 by Roy Russel based on the youth novel Henry's Leg by Ann Pilling , which was awarded the Guardian Prize for Children's Fiction in 1986. The television series was filmed at Maidstone Studios. The outside location was Faversham in Kent . From 1987 the series was broadcast in German synchronized version on the First German Television .

Henry distracts himself from the fact that his father has abandoned him and his mother by making garbage picking his hobby. When he takes the left leg of a mannequin with him, he gets into trouble because a gang of thieves has hidden stolen jewels in it.
