The State Services Commission (SSC) (German: Commission for the State Services ) in Māori Te Kawa Mataaho called, is the leading advisor to the New Zealand Government in relation to the management system of state services and works with the authorities of the public and non-public service close to each other.
It is one of the three central agencies of the state that are responsible for the management, coordination and supervision of all government services. The other two are the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and The Treasury (German: das Schatzamt ).
The Department of the State Services Commission reports to the Minister of State Services .
history
In 1913, the Public Service Commission (PSC) was established on the legal basis of the Public Service Act 1912 . In 1962 it was renamed on the basis of the State Services Act 1962 with a new structure and new tasks in the State Services Commission .
tasks
The legal tasks of the commission are:
- appoint and oversee the chief executives ( directors ) of the various public and non-public service sectors,
- Prepare audit reports on the services provided and the capabilities of all public and non-public services,
- Provide guidance and guidance on the integrity and conduct of public servants
- to enable equal and fair work opportunities across the entire public service,
- to manage and monitor the e-government program,
- to advise the government on the structuring of public services.
