tasks and goals

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development leads New Zealand's housing and urban development program. The ministry's goal is to create thriving communities where everyone can see where they live as a home.

To this end, the Ministry advocates the creation of more social housing and transitional housing and measures to combat homelessness. The ministry is also working to improve the supply of apartments for prospective homeowners and to increase the quality and safety of rental apartments for tenants. The ministry has also set itself the goal of realizing urban development projects more quickly.
