Henti

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Henti was an ancient Egyptian priestess probably during the 11th Dynasty ( first intermediate period ). She bore the title of "Head of the Cult Musicians of Iunmutef ". Henti was also "Priestess of Hathor " and "Guardian of Min ". The union of the titles clearly demonstrates the deities worshiped in Achmim .

Henti's coffin

The coffin of the Henti (Cairo Catalog Generale 28006) was found in the necropolis El-Diabat (El-Hawawish) near Achmim , which was in the ninth Upper Egyptian Min-Gau on the western side of the Nile . The coffin is most likely from the 11th dynasty. The coffin attracted the attention of Egyptologists because of the traditional Henti titles on it .
