Imeni Heorhija Kirpy ( Ukrainian Імені Георгія Кірпи - Heorhij-Kirpa-Bahnhof) is a railway station of the Piwdenno-Sachidna Salisnyzja in the Ukrainian capital Kiev . It is located in the town of Darnytsya on the eastern outskirts. The station is located in the heart of the Darnytsya Forest .

history

The station was opened in 1901 by the Kiev-Poltava Railway. In 1972 the section Darnyzja-Baryschiwka was electrified.

Until 2008, the station was named after the nearby settlement of Bortnytschi . Then the Piwdenno-Sachidna Salisnyzja took the initiative to rename the station in honor of the transport minister Heorhij Kirpa, who died in 2004 . The then general director of the Ukrzalisnytsya, Mychajlo Kostyuk , and the head of the Piwdenno-Sachidna Salisnytsja, Olexy Kryvopishin , visited the renamed station and unveiled a plaque .

All regional trains (except accelerated trains) stop at Imeni Heorhija Kirpy station. Long-distance trains don't stop here.
