Heraion
A Heraion ( ancient Greek Ἥραιον ) was in ancient Greece one of the goddess Hera consecrated temple or her consecrated sanctuary .
Some Heraia were:
- the Heraion of Argos (8th / 7th centuries BC)
- the Heraion of Olympia (7th century BC)
- the Heraion of Samos (7th century BC)
- the Heraion of Paestum (5th century BC)
- the Heraion of Agrigento (5th century BC)
- the Heraion of Pergamon (2nd century BC)
- the Hera sanctuary of Lakinion , today's Capo Colonna , near Kroton
- the Heraion of Perachora near Corinth
- the Heraion of Mycenae
- the Foce del Sele ( mouth of the Sele River ), a Heraion at the mouth of the Sele River north of Paestum
