Herbert Frauenrath
Herbert Frauenrath (born August 9, 1946 in Jülich ; † March 3, 2018 ) was a German chemist who was Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Kassel until 2011 .
life and work
Frauenrath studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen . After receiving his doctorate, he became a private lecturer in organic chemistry in 1986 , a university lecturer in 1990 and an adjunct professor at RWTH Aachen University in 1991. In 1993 he followed a call to the University of Kassel.
Frauenrath's research focus was on the development of new stereoselective and asymmetric-catalytic processes in the fields of organic chemistry and natural product chemistry .
