Herbert Halbik

Herbert Halbik (born July 10, 1945 ) is a former Austrian child actor , who became known through his participation in the English feature film The Third Man .

On the set of The Third Man, director Carol Reed became aware of Herbert Halbik, who was just 3 years old, and decided to have the boy appear in the film. He received the tiny, but still pithy part of little Hansl, who falsely accused Joseph Cotten alias Holly Martins of being a murderer. It was his only film appearance. Later, Halbik, who is dependent on a wheelchair after an accident, ran a tobacco shop in Vienna - Meidling .
