Herbert Kemmer (born May 13, 1905 in Berlin ; † December 10, 1962 ) was a German hockey player .

Kemmer took part in the Olympic hockey competitions in Amsterdam as early as 1928 . There he won the bronze medal with the German team after two appearances after Belgium had been beaten 3-0 in the game for third place. Kemmer had previously played in the group game against France, in which the German team won 2-0.

Eight years later, Kemmer competed again with the German hockey team at the Olympic Games. After two appearances, in the preliminary round in a 4-1 win against Afghanistan and in the semi-finals in a 3-0 win against the Netherlands, he was also in the final, where Germany lost 8-1 to defending champions India.

Kemmer was a player in the Berlin Hockey Club in 1936 and played together with four other players from this club at the Olympic Games. Kemmer played a total of 17 international matches for Germany.
