Herbord de Bar (Canon, before 1517)

Herbord de Bar (* in the 15th century; † June 24, 1558 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman, cathedral dean in Osnabrück and vice-dominus in Münster .

Life

Herbord de Bar came from the Lower Saxon noble family Bar and was the son of Hermann de Bar. His mother was born by Knehem . He was first mentioned in a document on June 22, 1517 as a canon of Münster and also owned a canon in Osnabrück. Here the cathedral chapter elected him on December 18, 1536 as cathedral dean . After the death of Philipp von Hörde he received the vice-nomination in Münster. It was owned by the archdeaconates in Nordkirchen, Ascheberg, Bork and Borculo. Its epitaph was located in Osnabrück Cathedral and was removed here during the restoration work in the mid-19th century.
