Herder Bible
The Herder Bible is a widely used translation of the Bible in Catholic German-speaking countries . It was created as a text basis for the multi-volume work Herder's Biblical Commentary, published by Verlag Herder from 1937 . The scriptures explained for life . The translators included well-known theologians such as Hermann Bückers , Edmund Kalt , Peter Ketter and Willibald Lauck . The Book of Psalms is a translation by the Benedictines of the Archabbey of Beuron .
A revised version of this translation was published between 1968 and 1984 with the commentary on the Jerusalem Bible . 1978 was by the competent episcopal conferences NRSV approved as a binding Bible text in preaching and teaching, with that, the Herder translation from public use.
Since 2005, the Herder Bible has been published again in various editions (including the so-called "Benedict Bible"). The text was carefully adapted to today's usage by Johannes Franzkowiak .
