Hermann Bek-Gran (born September 20, 1869 in Mainz , † July 9, 1909 in Nuremberg ) was a German painter, graphic artist and typographer .

Hermann Bek-Gran attended the arts and crafts school in Nuremberg. Since October 21, 1889 he studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Munich , first in the nature class with Gabriel von Hackl , then with Wilhelm von Lindenschmit the Younger . He then worked as a freelancer in Munich. In 1905 he was appointed professor for arts and crafts at the Nuremberg School of Arts and Crafts.

In addition to painting, he dealt with commercial graphics , u. a. designed posters and bookplates . He designed the Bek Gran font for the D. Stempel type foundry.

Hermann Bek-Gran died at the age of 40.
