Hermann Franz Braumann (baptized January 6, 1686 in Aachen ; † April 1, 1750 there ) was lay judge and mayor of the imperial city of Aachen .

Life

Hermann Franz Braumann was baptized on January 6, 1686 in Aachen. His parents were the aldermen Johann Albert Braumann (* between 1624 and 1638, † 1717) and his wife Anna Dorothea von Freins-Nordstrand († 1741).

It is not known when Hermann Franz Braumann was elected lay judge. In 1712 he joined the star guild, the professional representative of the Aachen lay judges. In 1715 he was first documented as a lay judge. In 1716, 1718 and 1720 he was elected mayor for one year each , the last two periods together with the mayor from the ranks of the guilds Peter Dahmen .

Hermann Franz Braumann was married to Maria Theresie von Ropertz († 1746). The future lay judge Friedrich Anton von Braumann (1719–1760) emerged from this marriage.

Apparently, Hermann Franz Braumann resigned from the lay judge's office in favor of his son, who was sworn in as a lay judge on November 25, 1749, after he had not participated in the lay judges' meetings for years for unknown reasons.

Hermann Franz Braumann died on April 1st, 1750 and was buried on April 3rd.
