Hermann Haller (doctor)

Hermann Günther Haller (* 1953 ) is a German internist specializing in nephrology .

Life

Haller received his doctorate in 1985 from the Free University of Berlin on the subject of the effect of angiotensin II on the ACTH - cortisol control circuit . In 1999 he accepted the call to the C4 professorship for nephrology at the Hannover Medical School (MHH). Since then he has also been head of the nephrology department at MHH. In addition, from January 22, 2006 (confirmation by the MHH study commission) to September 30, 2011, he was Dean of Studies for the human medicine course. In addition, Hermann Haller holds the office of chairman of the German Hypertension Society and is one of the European Society of Hypertension recognized (ESH) hypertension specialist .

His department is increasingly concerned with kidney transplant patients and the attempt to prevent organ rejection.

Together with Danilo Filser and Bernd Grabensee , he is the editor of the specialist journal “Der Nephrologe”.

In 1994 Haller received the Franz Volhard Prize of the German Society for Nephrology .
