The Hermann Hartje KG is a wholesale company for the motorcycle, bicycle and car retailers. The company's headquarters are in Hoya on the Weser .

history

Hermann Hartje Senior founded a trading company in 1895, to which today's Hartje KG goes back. In 1900 Hartje began selling bicycle parts and in 1904 opened a petrol station and a small car repair shop. He starts assembling the bicycle brands “Weserwoge” and “Prinzen-Rad”. After the war, the activities continued and in 1968 Hartje employed 50 people. In 1973 today's "Hermann Hartje KG" is founded. The company's activities expanded to the north-west of Germany and in 1986 the first sales offices in Bielefeld and Hamburg followed . After the reunification, Hartje became active in the new federal states and founded "Hermann Hartje Magdeburg GmbH & Co KG" in 1991 with locations in Magdeburg, Ochtmersleben , Potsdam and Leipzig.

In 2006 a sales office was opened in Zutphen (Netherlands) and another in Linz (Austria) in 2008. In 2011 branches in Aarhus (Denmark) and in Belgium followed.

In 2012, the company said it had 700 employees.

Merchandise and logistics

Hartje is a full-range supplier in the bicycle sector, ie the company sells all the components and accessories on a bicycle with various bicycle brands. The sales brands include a. VICTORIA, i: SY, TERN, EXCELSIOR. The own brand CONTOURA is developed and produced in the company's own bicycle factory.

Hartje is a partner in the car parts cooperation CARAT (association of German and European car parts dealers).

Own brands

Hartje sells custom-made complete bikes under the brands:

  • CONWAY (since 1993) mainly MTBs
  • VICTORIA, the naming rights of the former German manufacturer were transferred exclusively to Hermann Hartje KG in 1995

Hermann Hartje entered into a cooperation with Yello Strom , a company of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG , for the e-bike divisions of its own brands CONWAY and VICTORIA .
