Hermann Müllensiefen

Hermann Müllensiefen (born November 28, 1837 in Crengeldanz , † April 16, 1897 ) was a German entrepreneur and local politician and politician (as a member of the German Reichstag ).

Life

Müllensiefen was the son of the glass manufacturer Gustav Müllensiefen , attended the secondary school in Siegen and did his military service in Berlin in 1858 . From 1859 to 1860 he was a trainee in Louis Schwartzkopff's machine factory in Berlin and then joined his father's company, Gebrüder Müllensiefen , which was founded in 1826 by Gustav and Theodor Müllensiefen and was one of the most important flat glass factories in Germany. In 1872, Hermann Müllensiefen built the Villa Müllensiefen near the glass factory, which still exists today. In 1874 he and his younger brother Theodor became owners of the company.

Müllensiefen has been a member of the city ​​council since 1868 and, in recent years, a member of the Witten magistrate , as well as a member of the district council and district committee of the Bochum district . From January 1891 to 1893 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Arnsberg Region 5 (district Bochum, district Gelsenkirchen , district Hattingen ) as a member of the National Liberal Party .

The family company was taken over by Deutsche Tafelglas AG (Detag) in 1930 ; today the factory is owned by Pilkington Automotive Deutschland GmbH .
