Hermann Schwab (politician)

Hermann Schwab (born July 20, 1917 in Schwäbisch Hall , † December 18, 2000 in Winnenden ) was a German local politician and non-commissioned officer.

Career

From 1924 to 1928 he attended the Protestant elementary school in Untermünkheim and from 1928 to 1934 the upper secondary school in Schwäbisch Hall and completed his secondary school leaving certificate. Schwab was a member and leader of the YMCA from 1928 to 1934 for young people. From 1939 he was in military service in various units in France and Russia and most recently he was a non-commissioned officer and paymaster. He was an office assistant from 1934 to 1938 a. a. at the municipality of Untermünkheim. From 1938 to 1939 he was on the State Administrative Council in Stuttgart. From 1946 to 1947 Schwab was government inspector at the district office in Aalen.

Schwab was Mayor from 1947 to 1973 and Lord Mayor from 1973 to 1978 of the city of Winnenden . In 1978 he became an honorary citizen of the city of Winnenden. In 1956 he worked as mayor in the construction of the Hermann Schwab Hall and the hall was named after him.

Schwab was married to Johanna Schwab from July 1, 1944 and was the father of Klaus-Dieter Schwab (* March 29, 1947 in Ellwangen), Wolfgang Schwab (* November 30, 1948 in Stuttgart) and Hartmut Schwab (* September 27, 1947) 1952 in Winnenden). Schwab lived in Aalen from 1946 to 1947 and in Winnenden from 1947.
