Hermann Tabel

Hermann Tabel (* around 1660; † before May 8, 1738 in London ) was a harpsichord maker . Tabel came from the area of ​​what was then the Netherlands , which included the area of ​​today's Netherlands , Belgium and the area of ​​the Lower Rhine as far as Emden . He was a student in the Couchet workshop in Antwerp, where he learned to make harpsichords. He moved to London around 1700 and settled there. He opened a workshop and is run as a master from 1716. Burkhardt Tschudi and Jacob Kirkman were among his students . Tabel was married twice. His widow Susanna Virgoe married Jacob Kirkman a month after his death, who also took over the workshop, tools and inventory of harpsichords from Tabel.
