The defender played in the 1942/43 season, playing for Kickers Offenbach . With the team he won the championship of the Gauliga Hessen-Nassau and was in the round of 16 of the German soccer championship .
In the following season he played for Hertha BSC , where he was the only player to play all 18 games in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg and score a goal. Hertha qualified for the final round of the German championship with first place , where they lost 2: 3 in the quarter-finals to HSV Groß Born .
