Hermann Vetter (soccer player)

Hermann Vetter (born August 31, 1921 ) is a former German soccer player .

Athletic career

Vetter began playing football with Göppingen local competitor FV Vorwärts Faurndau before joining SV Göppingen , where he played in the Gauliga Württemberg from 1943 . As the best striker in the championship, he led the team to the Württemberg championship. In the final round of the German championship, however, he failed with his club in the first round at the war sports community from Saarbrücken ; in the 3-5 defeat he scored a goal. In the same year the team reached the final of the Gaupokal, but there the Stuttgart Kickers clearly won with a 5-0 win.

After the Second World War , Vetter joined the Stuttgarter Kickers. Here, too, he played in the top division, in 1948 he was third with the club in the Oberliga Süd . Two years later he was relegated with the club from the league, in which he had scored 30 goals for "the blue" in 145 games. For a long time he was the regular penalty taker . He then returned to SV Göppingen, which is now playing in the amateur field. In 1956, he took over the coaching position of the fourth division team at the time, which he initially held until 1959. In 1964 he was again briefly coach of the club.
