Hermann von Hörde

Hermann von Hörde (* in the 15th century; † May 4, 1511 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Hermann von Hörde came from the Westphalian noble family Hörde and was the son of Friedrich von Hörde zu Störmede († 1503) and his wife Katharina von Fürstenberg. His brother Philipp was Vice Dominus and Canon in Münster. Johann, his other brother, was canon in Paderborn.

Act

Hermann was first mentioned in a document on April 10, 1486 as the canon of Münster. It was owned by the Archdeaconate Winterswijk . He was appointed cathedral bursar in 1508. In this position he was responsible for the economic management of the cathedral chapter . Hermann actively supported his friend, Canon Rudolf von Langen , in reforming the cathedral school . An epitaph was erected in Münster Cathedral for him and for his brother Philipp.
