Hermione Braga-Jaff
Hermine Braga-Jaff , actually Hermine Prager ( July 4, 1857 in Groß-Kanizsa , Kingdom of Hungary - September 10, 1940 in Vienna ) was a Hungarian opera singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher .
Life
Her debut celebrated on 1 September 1877 the Vienna Court Opera in the role of "Marguerite de Valois" in the Huguenots of Giacomo Meyerbeer , where it remained until 1888th
On November 14, 1886, she married Julius Jaff in the City Temple of Vienna. Their engagement ended in 1888.
Since her divorce, she has not taken on a permanent engagement, but has been doing a guest performance. She kept her residence in Vienna. These guest performances led her to the first opera theaters in Germany and in the winter of 1890 to the Grand Opéra Paris. Towards the end of the 1890s she worked as a singing teacher in Prague.
In Vienna she was buried in the central cemetery.
