history
The company was founded in Graz in 1919 . In the first decades of the company's history, the resident address book and the export address book were among the core products. Around 1960 the publishing house brought out the first telephone directory in Austria, the “Roten HEROLD” . 1988 followed with the round HEROLD a business-to-business directory of all Austrian companies on CD-Rom. Since 1991 the company has also published the Austrian Yellow Pages, initially as a partner of the Post, and since 1997 on behalf of Telekom Austria . In 1995/1996, HEROLD is one of the first companies in Austria to also be active online. In 2000, the yellow pages and the telephone book can be called up on a WAP cell phone, until HEROLD mobile for smartphones follows in 2006.
Today the company is part of the European Directories Group.
